Ruffle Trimmed Scarf (Crochet)
Make a scarf that is both stylish and warm with Loops & Threads® Charisma™ Yarn. Add multiple crocheted ruffles with Sashay™ to create a layered look.
- Loops & Threads® Charisma™ Yarn – Navy Blue
- Red Heart® Boutique™ Sashay™ Yarn – Mambo
- Crochet Hook, Size 6.5mm [US K-10.5]
- Stitch Markers
- Yarn Needle
Ch = Chain
Sc = Single Crochet
Dc = Double Crochet
St(s) = Stitch(es)
Gauge: Gauge is not important for this project.
Row 1: Dc in third st from hook. Sc in next st. Dc in next. [Repeat sc in next st. Dc in next]. End on sc. Ch 2, turn.
Row 2: [NOTE: Ch 2 from the end of row 1 counts as first dc for each row.] Sc in next st. Dc in next. [Repeat sc in next st. Dc in next]. End on sc from chain in below row. Ch 2, turn. NOTE: In new row, sc will go in dc from previous row and dc will go in sc from previous row.
Row 3: Last Repeat pattern: Sc, dc, sc. At the end of each row, Ch 2 and turn.
Finishing: Fasten off and tuck in ends.
Step 1 Place crochet hook in the first large loop across the top and in the next six loops as well.
Step 2 After the seventh loop is on the hook, bring it through each previous loop on the hook, one at a time.
Step 3 Pick up six more loops onto the hook and bring the seventh loop one at a time through the rest.
Step 4 Continue this pattern repeating until you have the length of scarf you want.
Note: Scarf in image was made with one complete skein.
Finishing: Upon completion, bring the last loop through and tack in place with a needle and matching sewing thread. This will hold in place. You may trim raw edges on ends if needed.
Step 1 Lay ruffled yarn onto trim of scarf. Use stitch markers to hold in place.
Step 2 Using Charisma™ yarn, whip stitch ruffled yarn to scarf.
Step 3 Fasten off and tuck in ends.
