Project Instructions

Paint the saucer with the Iron Metallic Surfacer from the Rust Antiquing Set. Let dry. Apply one coat of the Rust Solution according to package directions. Apply as many coats as desired to achieve a more heavily rusted look. Once completely dry, seal all surfaces using the Primer and Sealer.

Cut six 24" lengths of wire. Wrap and secure one end of a piece of wire around the grapevine wreath and then wrap and secure the other end across the center of the wreath to the opposite side. Continue this until you have all six pieces of wire in place. It should look like a wagon wheel. Using a small piece of wire, wrap and secure around the center where all the wires cross. This becomes the base to hold the saucer.

Cut three 12" lengths of wire for the hanger. Wrap and secure one end of one piece of wire around one of the wires already wrapped around the wreath. Repeat with the other two wires making sure you create a triangle so the feeder will hang level. Twist each wire around the dowel about five times and slide the dowel out. Add a glass bead or two. Continue two more times. Gather all three of the coiled and beaded wires together making sure the wreath base hangs level. Pull one of the three wires down and wrap and coil tightly around the other two. Make sure you leave enough of the remaining two wires to fold over and create a loop to hang. Secure the wires well. Insert the rusted clay saucer onto the wreath base and fill with bird seed or water!
