Use photocopier to enlarge Santa patterns (dowload below) 175% and use scissors to cut out patterns. Set aside Face and Mustache patterns. Place Santa Hat/Head pattern on Elmer's® Foam Board™ and trace with pencil. Use pencil and ruler to draw two 2 1/2" x 6" and two 2 1/2" x 7" rectangles on Foam Board™ for Box Sides and Ends and 5" x 7" rectangle for Box Base. Use an X-ACTO® #1 Knife (with new blade), ruler and cutting mat to cut Foam Board™ pieces.
(Hint: Score lightly first and then press more firmly to cut deeper, with several passes of the knife. Replace blades often.)
Assemble Box, but before gluing, hold up Foam Board™ Sides to see how to connect them by pressing two short Sides against Base, then, two long Sides. Use glue gun to help assemble in same order.
To cover three sides of Box, (leaving one short side uncovered) use pencil and ruler to draw three 2 1/2" x 12" rectangles on green paper and cut out with scissors. Cover outside Sides of Box by wrapping paper strips around box and using Elmers® CraftBond™ Extra Strength Glue Stick to attach, piecing as necessary. Set Box aside.
Use Glue Stick to attach red polka dot paper to Hat area of Foam Board. Set front of hat on cutting mat and use an X-ACTO® Knife to trim paper even with Foam Board™ edges.
Trace Face pattern onto cream paper and Mustache pattern onto white paper. Use scissors to cut out. Use Glue Stick to attach Face to Foam Board™. Set aside Mustache.
For Beard, spread Elmer's® CraftBond™ Paper Craft Glue Gel onto beard area and set curly hair into it, allowing hair to extend slightly beyond outside edge and mouth opening. Referring to photo for placement, use Paper Craft Glue Gel to attach wiggle eyes and poms to create hatband. Let dry. Use Glue Stick to attach the center of the mustache directly above mouth opening, allowing mustache ends to be loose.
Use glue gun to attach bells to top of hat and nose area. With Santa upright, use glue gun to attach uncovered end of Box to bottom back of Santa so that Box is flat on table and holds up Santa. Fill Box with your favorite wrapped candy!
