Project Instructions

Step 1 Cut wire to size.

Step 2 Find desired size on mandrel and place center of the wire on that mark.

Step 3 Wrap the wire around three times. Be sure these wires do not overlap and you have equal lengths of wire when done.

Step 4 At top, where wires meet, place thumb over wire, pressing on mandrel and begin to twist each wire, alternating one at a time. Twist each end four times. This will be the center of your petals.

Step 5 Gently hammer the twists with nylon hammer.

Step 6 String five or six beads on one of the wires, alternating colors/sizes.

Step 7 Use Beadalon® banding pliers and at end of beads, bend wire down toward center of the ring. This will be one of your petals.

Step 8 Use chain nose pliers to hold petal in place and make two tight wraps at end of petal (under beads).

Step 9 Repeat, varying each petal slightly in length.

Step 10 Once all petals have been completed take excess wire and randomly wrap it around some of the petals to secure them in place.

Step 11 Trim excess wire.

Step 12 Repeat Steps 10 and 11 with opposite wire.

Step 13 Cut 26 ga. wire and bend in half.

Step 14 Slide the bend over the middle of the ring shank.

Step 15 Hold 26 ga. tightly in place and begin to make tight wraps around the three 20 ga. wires. Each wrap should be tight and touching the previous one. Be sure to keep your three 20 ga. wires flat. Continue until you reach the top.

Step 16 Repeat Step 15 with opposite side.

Step 17 Finish each wire by wrapping it around bottom of a petal. DO NOT TRIM.

Step 18 Slide three random beads on one of the wires.

Step 19 Wrap the wire around bottom of closest petal.

Step 20 Repeat on one side of the ring.

Step 21 Repeat Steps 18-19 with opposite 26 ga. wire. These beads surround the center twist you made in Step 4.

Step 22 Using your hand, gently bend petals to give them a 3D effect.

Step 23 Place ring back on mandrel and gently hammer shank (wrapped section). This will flatten your wraps, giving the project a professional look.
