Project Instructions

Step: 1

Preheat a dry iron to the wool setting.

Step: 2

Determine what size heart will best fit your shirt.

Step: 3

Using pen and paper, draw a heart.

Step: 4

Lay the paper heart on top of the red tee (or fabric scraps) and pin.

Step: 5

Cut the red fabric around the paper heart.

Step: 6

Once the red heart is cut out, pin it on top of the pink fabric. Using the regular scissors, cut an approximate 1 inch border around the red heart. Then using the pinking shears, trim the pink border down to 1/4 inch.

Step: 7

While the red heart is still pinned on top of the pink heart, lightly glue loose edges together with fabric glue to hold in position - Do not add too much glue. You do not want it to show through the red fabric. Just enough to make it tacky.

Step: 8

Position the layered hearts on your shirt. Pin in place on the shirt. Lightly glue the back of the pink heart to the shirt, and allow to dry a few minutes so it does not move while stitching.

Step: 9

Thread your needle, and stitch the hearts to the shirt for permanent application.

Step: 10

Remove pins.

Step: 11

Gently peel the letters from the backing sheet. Position on shirt where desired with the fuzzy side up and the shiny side down. Press for 10 to 15 seconds. (If using the peel & press method, do not move iron while pressing letters, or they may shift while applying. You may also use the cut & press method as on the package).

Step: 12

Once letters are securely applied to the shirt, peel off 27 of the large studs. Position 3 studs on each letter - it is OK to press directly onto flock once applied. Gently press each stud for 5 to 10 seconds. Let cool before touching.

Tips

Prewash your tee without fabric softener before you start. Then try on to find the best spot for the heart -measure how far down the top of the heart should be from the neckline.
