Paint STYROFOAM brand foam ball with bronze. (Hint: Insert chopstick or skewer into foam ball to hold while painting. Place chopstick in a glass or block of STYROFOAM brand foam while paint dries.)
If using leaves, glue them randomly onto the painted ball.
Cut craft wire into 1-inch lengths. Using needle nose pliers, bend wire into narrow U shapes.
Tie end of beading cord in a large knot. Place a dab of glue on foam ball, place knot on glue and insert into foam ball; hold in place with U-shaped wire.
Gently but firmly wind the stretchy cord around the ball, using U-shaped wires after several wraps to help hold cords in place. Continue wrapping, winding cord around ball in various directions, until ball is covered. (Note: If using leaves, glue on additional leaves as ball is wrapped.)
When ball is covered, follow step 4 to attach the end of the cord.
Handle with care so cords do not “spring” off ball.
Use photo as a guide and follow manufacturer’s instructions for all products used.
For an alternative look, add different elements as you wrap the spheres. Try silk leaves in assorted colors, silk flowers or silk petals, grasses, or, string beads onto the elastic beading cord.
