Material List
- To make 24 points
2 ½ yards black 1 ½ inch ribbon - cut into 4 inch pieces
2 ½ yards green 1 inch ribbon - cut into 4 inch pieces
1 ¼ yards black ½ inch ribbon printed with green footballs - cut into 4 inch pieces - 3 cardboard backing circles
- White mum flower
- For double backing streamers
12 yards of green 1 ½ inch ribbons - cut into 2 yard pieces
12 yards of black 1 ½ inch ribbons - cut into 2 yard pieces - 1 yard of 1 ½ inch black ribbon with silver edges for homecoming streamer
- Streamers and garland - 1 yard each piece
10 assorted printed ribbon streamers in green and black
1 green and black round braid
1 green and black flat braid
1 green and black bow
2 silver cowbells
Silver chain garland
10 Silver curling ribbons
Silver interlocking sta - Plastic trinkets and other embellishments
A large curved green and silver “Homecoming” banner
White teddy bear
Green cowboy hat
Silver 3D heart
Dragon sticker
2 bows out of ½ inch green ribbon with silver edges
Several silver football helmets
Green football players- 6 inches of 1 ½ inch wide black ribbon
- Hot glue
- Stapler
Project Instructions
Step: 1
Make 24 points - Layer black 1 ½ inch ribbon with green 1 inch ribbon down the center of each point for all and then add to ½ of them a black ½ inch ribbon printed with green footballs. Attach to backing in a double row - attaching the 12 with the black stripe spaced evenly around cardboard backing and adding the other 12 points in between.
Step: 2
Prepare flower and attach to the backing the with points.
Step: 3
Make a backing with basic double backing streamers in green and black - take 1 piece of each color of the 2 yard ribbons, lay one on top of the other and fold in ½ so that the right side of the ribbon still shows on both sides (the top will form a point). Then staple the point onto another cardboard backing circle in 2 rows of 3 double streamers, overlapping slightly.
Step: 4
Make a “Homecoming” streamer with 1 yard piece of 1 ½ inch wide black ribbon with silver edges. Add “Homecoming” in silver glitter sticker letters. Staple in center front of streamers.
Step: 5
Add the following with staples or hot glue
10 assorted printed ribbon streamers in green and black
1 green and black round braid
1 green and black flat braid
1 green and black bow for the bottom of each braid
2 silver cowbells for the bottom of braids
Silver chain garland
10 Silver curling ribbon
Silver interlocking star garland - looped
Silver Star garland
Silver heart garland
Green metallic curling ribbon
Football and helmet silver garland
Step: 6
Hot glue onto flower
A large curved green and silver “Homecoming” banner
White teddy bear
Green cowboy hat on bear
Silver 3D heart in his hands
Add a dragon sticker to 3D heart
2 bows out of ½ inch green ribbon with silver edges
Step: 7
Hot glue or tie onto thin streamers as shown
Several silver football helmets
Green football players
On chain, tie small silver cowbells every 4 to 6 inches with green metallic curling ribbon, curled
Step: 8
Make a black hanger loop with 6 inch of 1 ½ inch wide black ribbon. Fold it in ½ and staple it well to the top of the backing with the streamers.
Step: 9
Hot glue the backing with the streamers to the back of the backing with the points/flower. Then hot glue the 3rd backing circle on that to finish.
