Referring to photograph, use a plastic knife to cut a 1" piece off each side of the disc for the body. You will use the two cut pieces for the shoes.
Paint the Smoothfoam™ pieces as follows: balls Torrid Orange, body green, and shoes black. Let dry. TIP: Place each ball on a skinny stick to use as a handle while painting.
Decorate the body as shown with a 3 1/4" x 2" rectangle of black glitter foam and two 3" x 1/2" strips. To make the letters, cut seven 1/4" x 1 1/2" strips of silver glitter foam for the vertical pieces to create each letter. Press in place, then cut horizontal pieces to fit between strips.
Add two strips of silver glitter foam at the top and bottom, then press three decorative brads into the foam between the two black strips.
Thread the wire through the top of the body to create arms. Thread three small balls onto the wire at each side. Bend the end of the wire upwards to form a "U" shape.
Cut four "crescent moon" shaped pieces; then with edges aligned, adhere back to back over the ends of the wire. Fold a silver glitter strip over the wire between the ball and the black foam pieces.
To create the legs, cut the dowel in half then wrap tightly with orange chenille. Glue one end of the dowel into the base of the body and the opposite end into the top of each shoe. TIP: Make a pilot hole first with the point of a pencil.
Embellish the head with wiggle eyes and black strips of glitter for a mouth and then insert a toothpick into the bottom of the head. Glue the opposite end of the toothpick into the top of the body.
Curl a green chenille stem around a dowel, pen, pencil or foam brush handle, then cut in half. Insert each piece into the top of the head to finish.
Adult supervision is required at all times.
