Project Instructions

Step: 1

Guy’s Shirt:

Wash gray T-shirt to remove sizing then dry in dryer; do not use fabric softener.

Step: 2

Cover work surface with plastic tablecloth. Place shirt right side down on prepared surface and smooth flat. Cover right shoulder with fishnet piece as shown, spreading netting for more open spaces then smoothing flat onto shirt.

Step: 3

Wearing gloves from dye box, fill Blue dye bottle with water to line indicated. Replace cap tightly then shake bottle until dye is thoroughly mixed. Carefully pour dye into spray bottle and shake again.

Step: 4

Start spray on paper towels then spray over netting as shown. Hold bottle about 12-inches above shirt then lightly mist, working over sections several times - a heavy single spray may seep under netting.

Step: 5

Carefully remove netting, flip over shirt, position netting in place then repeat dye step.

Step: 6

Cover T-shirt with plastic tablecloth and let set 4 to 6 hours. Wash in washing machine on a large load setting with a small amount of laundry soap. Dry in dryer.

Step: 7

Girl’s Shirt:

Wash white T-shirt to remove sizing; do not use fabric softener.

Step: 8

Cover work surface with plastic tablecloth. Place damp T-shirt on prepared work surface. Wearing gloves from dye box, add water to Blue dye bottle then shake thoroughly to mix.

Step: 9

Squeeze Blue dye onto lower half of shirt as shown. Cover shirt with plastic wrap and let set 4 to 6 hours. Wash in washing machine on a large load setting with a small amount of laundry soap. Dry in dryer.

Step: 10

Place dry shirt on clean plastic tablecloth. Position lace on top half of shirt as shown then press to flatten onto shirt.

Step: 11

Wearing gloves from dye box, fill Turquoise dye bottle with water then shake thoroughly to mix.

Step: 12

Fill clean spray bottle with dye. Start spray on paper towel then spray over lace. Hold bottle about 12-inches above shirt then lightly mist, working over sections several times - a heavy single spray may seep under lace. Carefully remove lace.

Step: 13

Cover T-shirt with plastic wrap and let set 4 to 6 hours. Wash in washing machine on a large load setting with a small amount of laundry soap. Dry in dryer.

Tips

Always test spray on paper towels first to ensure an even flow.
