First Half

Row 1 (Wrong Side): Working in back nubs of ch, dc in 5th ch from hook, ch 1, skip 2 ch, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next ch, ch 2, skip 5 ch, ([dc, ch 2] 3 times, dc) in next ch, ch 2, skip 5 ch, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next ch, ch 1, skip 2 ch, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next ch, leave last ch unworked.

Row 2: Ch 4 (counts as dc and ch 1 here and throughout), turn, dc in first ch-1 space, ch 1, skip next ch-1 space, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next ch-1 space, skip next ch-2 space, Shell in next 3 ch-2 spaces, skip next ch-2 space, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next ch-1 space, ch 1, skip next ch-1 space, (dc, ch 1, dc) in last ch-1 space.

Row 3:Ch 4, turn, dc in first ch-1 space, ch 1, skip next ch-1 space, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next ch-1 space, ch 2, ([dc, ch 2] 3 times, dc] in first dc of center Shell, ch 2, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next ch-1 space, ch 1, skip next ch-1 space, (dc, ch 1, dc) in last ch-1 space.

Rows 4-45: Repeat Rows 2-3.

Row 46:Repeat Row 2.

Fasten off.

Second Half

Row 1: With wrong side facing, draw up a loop in first ch of foundation ch, ch 4, dc in same ch, ch 1, skip 2 ch, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next ch, ch 2, skip 5 ch, ([dc, ch 2] 3 times, dc) in next ch, ch 2, skip 5 ch, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next ch, ch 1, skip 2 ch, (dc, ch 1, dc) in last ch.

Repeat Rows 2-46 as for First Half.

Do Not Fasten Off.

Border

Round 1:Turn to work along long edge, ch 1, *(sc, ch 2, sc) in every row along long edge to opposite last row of First Half, turn to work along last row of First Half, [sc, ch 2, sc] twice in beginning ch-1 space, (sc, ch 2, sc) in next 2 ch-1 space, ch 1, skip next hdc, (sc, ch 2, sc) in next dc, ch 1, skip next dc, sc in next hdc, ch 1, skip next hdc, (sc, ch 3, sc) in next dc, ch 1, skip next dc, sc in next hdc, ch 1, skip next hdc, (sc, ch 2, sc) in next dc, ch 1, skip next dc and hdc, (sc, ch 2, sc) in next 2 ch-1 space, [sc, ch 2, sc] twice in last ch-1 space, ch 1; turn to work along opposite long edge and repeat from * once more, slip st to first st to join.

Fasten off.
