Cut a long section of 28 gauge wire, using a crochet needle (F or G) use the 28 gauge wire, make a slip knot about 3 inches from the end. Slide the crochet needle into the slip knot opening. On the other end of the wire string the coral beads and gently close off end so that the beads don’t fall off the wire. Wrap the long end of the wire over the crochet needle, right below the hook. Bring the wire over the hook from the back to the front. Slide the hook through the slip know, make sure each stitch stays on the hook to make one chain stitch. Continue to crochet three-four chain stitches. Then slide a bead down the wire and wrap the bead into your stitch, capturing it in the chain stitch; you can pull the wire tight to the bead or leave loose depending on which look is preferred. Continue to make the chain as long or short as desired or until the beads have all been captured into the chain. Leave an equal amount of chain stitches at the end of the chain as in the beginning of the chain.
Repeat the step above but using the turquoise beads instead of the coral beads and create two separate chains.
Weave/braid the three chain stitch beaded chains together and attached to the silver chain maille chain. Use small pieces of wire if needed to secure the crochet sections to the chain maille chain at the center and sides.
Open jump rings and attach to each end of the chain maille sections a leather wrapped chain section. Use pliers to close jump rings securely.
Open two jump rings and attach to the open ends of the leather wrapped chains, place clasp on one jump ring. Use pliers to closure securely. Place remaining jump ring on the other leather wrapped chain section and close securely with pliers. Attach clasp to jump ring to close the necklace. An extender chain can be added if desired to the jump ring opposite of the clasp for an adjustable necklace.
Open a jump ring with pliers and attach the seed bead pendant to the center of the necklace. Close securely.
Use pliers and open jumps rings to connect the cross charms and the seed bead cluster charms. Close securely.
Take headpins and slide a gemstone or southwest charm onto the headpin. Use the round nose pliers to bend the wire into a loop right above the gemstone or crystal, attach to the chain throughout the necklace. Use the side cutters to trim excess wire from the headpin and secure the end of the headpin with the pliers. Repeat for each gemstone and silver southwest charms throughout the necklace.
