- Lion Brand® Circular Knitting Needle, Size 8 (5mm), 29" Long
- Lion Brand® Stitch Markers
- Lion Brand® Large-eyed Blunt Needle
Project Instructions
SIZE
One Size
About 34"x38" (86.5cm x 96.5cm), before folding and seaming.
GAUGE
16 sts + 21 rows = 4" (10cm) in St st (k on RS, p on WS).
BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE.
PATTERN STITCH
K1, p1 Rib (multiple of 2 sts)
Row 1: *k1, p1; rep from * across.
Row 2: k the knit sts and p the purl sts.
Rep Row 2 for k1, p1 Rib.
NOTE: Circular needle is used to accommodate large number of sts. Work back and forth on circular needle as if working on straight needles.
SHRUG
Cast on 136 sts.
Work in k1, p1 Rib until piece measures 2" (5cm) from beg.
Work in St st (k on RS, p on WS) until piece measures 36" (91.5cm) from beg.
Work in k1, p1 Rib until piece measures 38" (96.5cm) from beg.
Bind off.
FINISHING
Fold piece in half, bringing cast-on edge and bound-off edges together, to measure 34"x19" (85.5cm x 48.5cm). Place markers on each of the 19" (48.5cm) sides, 7" (18cm) below fold for armholes. Seam sides from marker down to lower edge.
Weave in ends.
