Project Instructions

Step 1 Cut two 9 " pieces of 22 ga. wire.

Step 2 Cut one 12" piece of 26 ga.

Step 3 Lay wires out in this order: one 22 ga. wire, one 20 ga. wire and one 22 ga. wire.

Step 4 Tape wires together, keeping them flat and in the same order.

Step 5 Use chain nose pliers to make a small hook on bottom of 26 ga. wire, (about ¼" from end).

Step 6 Find center of wire bundle and place 26 ga. hook at that location.

Step 7 Begin to wrap the 26 ga. wire around the bundle six times. Be careful not to change the position of the wires in the bundle. Wraps should be taut and touching. Use chain nose pliers to tamp down binding wraps and trim excess wire.

Step 8 About 1" from the center binding, repeat Steps 2 and 4, but wrap only four times. Note: wire cuts, (ends), should be on the same side with each binding.

Step 9 Repeat with other side. You should now have three bindings.

Step 10 Form the wire around the round Amber Lentil. Where wires meet at the top, make another hook on your 26 ga. wire.

Step 11 Pull wires at top of pendant together and wrap with 26 ga. wire. Start closest to the pendant and work away from pendant. Make four wraps. DO NOT CUT THE 26 ga. WIRE.

Step 12 Keeping wires on correct sides, separate, keeping the 20 ga. wires straight up -- this will be for your pendant bale. Use smaller side of baler and form a double bale at top, using the two center 20 ga. wires. This will be the back of your pendant.

Step 13 Trim ends of 20 ga. wires so they are even with the top of your design.

Step 14 Use your Beadalon® round nose pliers and make a slight bend on ends. Using remaining 26 ga. binding wire, wrap around bale six times to secure. DO NOT CUT THE 26 ga. wire.

Step 15 Turn design face down so the bale ends are closest to you. Use chain nose pliers and begin to gently pull wires (between each binding) toward the center, forming a cage. Repeat at all four positions. Turn design over so front is on top.

Step 16 Pop Shell Amber Lentil into the design.

Step 17 Use chain nose pliers and repeat Step 7. Pull one wire at a time.

Step 18 Slide an onyx marquise shaped stone onto one of the 26 ga. wires. It should lie flat on top of the Shell Amber Lentil. Wrap 26 ga. wire around the bale until it is secure. Tuck ends and trim excess wire.

Step 19 Using round nose pliers, make a small loop on end of one of the 22 ga. wires.

Step 20 Using chain nose pliers, begin to roll wire to form a swirl. Repeat swirl design on all all four wires.

You can replace the swirls, (Steps 26-27) with curly wires.
