Paint a 4-inch half ball with red for body. Paint a 2-inch half ball with black for head. Let dry.
Cut a 2-inch piece of chenille stem, push halfway into the cut side of the head and push the head onto the body.
Cut the 1-inch ball in half and roll and shape into eyes. Cut two 2-inch pieces of chenille stem, fold each in half and push the cut ends through the center of each eye then into the head. The chenille stems become the pupils of the eyes.
Cut six 2-inch pieces of chenille stem and push one end of each into the underneath side of the body, three on each side, for legs.
Cut two 6-inch pieces of chenille stem and push them into the head just behind the eyes for antennae. Cut another 6-inch chenille stem and push one end into the body just behind the head, wrap it down the back of the body and push the other end into the back of the body, this creates the wings. Cut 2-inch pieces of chenille stem and make small coils, for the spots. Push the cut ends into the body. Add as many spots as desired.
