- Styrofoam™ Brand Foam:
2-inch Ball (1 for head)
3-inch Egg (1 for abdomen)
- Black Chenille Stems (5)
- Black Acrylic Paint
- White Tacky Glue
- Wire Cutters (to cut chenille stems)
Paint the Styrofoam pieces with black and let dry.
Assemble the head and body by firmly pressing the head to the wide end of the egg to make an indentation in the foam. To link the parts together; cut a 1½-inch piece of chenille stem, push one end into each foam piece where they meet and push the head onto the body. Glue can be added to the ends of the stem before inserting for added support.
To make the legs, cut four chenille stems in half. Insert the ends into the spider, four on each side, as shown. Add glue to the ends of the stems before inserting, for added support. Bend each stem to shape legs.
To make the eyes, cut two 1-inch pieces of chenille stem, fold each in half and push the cut ends into the head
To make the fangs; cut two 1½-inch pieces of chenille stem and push them into the front of the face about ¼-inch apart. Cut two 2-inch pieces of stem and push one on either side of the fangs.
