Terra Cotta Rocking Horse
- Patio Paint: Cloud White, Wrought Iron Black, Azalea, Hydrangea Blue, Citrus Green
- 4-inch Standard Terra Cotta Pot
- Lara’s Wood Sign (2)
- 1½-inch x 2¼-inch Wood Rectangle
- 1¼-inch Wood Blocks (2)
- 1/8-inch Wood Dowel
- ¼-inch Wood Dowel (3)
- #6 Flat Brush
- Disposable Palette/Plate
- Paper Towels
- Water Container
- Low Temp Glue Gun
- Yellow Yarn
- ¼-inch Masking Tape
Paint the signs (rockers) Citrus Green. Paint the rectangle and 1/8-inch dowel Hydrangea Blue. Let dry.
Use masking tape to make random size stripes on wood sign rockers, alternating Azalea and Hydrangea Blue. Let dry and remove tape.
Paint large Cloud White polka dots on 4-inch pot. When dry, paint dots Citrus Green, using the end of the paint brush.
Paint Azalea half-circle for saddle. Use liner brush and Azalea to paint stirrups and triangle on rectangle for blaze. Use brush handle end and Cloud White to dot around saddle. See image for guide.
Use brush handle end and Cloud White to dot eye on rectangle. Make smaller Wrought Iron Black dot inside Cloud White when dry. Use liner brush and Wrought Iron Black to paint swirl for nostril.
Cut two 4-inch pieces of 1/8-inch dowel and one 7-inch piece of ¼-inch dowel.
Insert 4-inch pieces in sign holes to form rockers.
Adhere rectangle onto 7-inch dowel, then dowel inside pot.
Adhere two small wood blocks to bottom of pot. Position rockers and adhere to blocks. (Refer to photo for placement.)
Cut 2-inch pieces of yarn for mane and 7-inch pieces for tail; adhere with glue gun.
