Project Instructions

Choose 2 pieces of scrapbook paper and glue together in the middle, overlapping about halfway.

Cut a piece of construction paper into a square and a rectangle.

Glue the square down on the left side.

Draw the pumpkin shape onto orange construction paper and carefully tear it out, or cut it for an easier technique.

On the pumpkin, write any Thanksgiving- themed words. Dip the pencil eraser into paint and make painted dots along the letters lines. Let dry.

Glue pumpkin to square on mat.

On the rectangular piece of paper, paint thumbprints into the shape of a turkey. To make turkey prints, paint thumbs. Turn thumb to 3 angles for the top feathers and turn thumb sideways for the bottom body. Use a pencil eraser to paint on white eyes. Let dry. Use lead of the pencil to paint on black eyes and feet. Repeat pattern as desired.

Glue rectangular turkey strip to mat.

To waterproof the place mat, laminate it or use clear contact paper.
