Project Instructions

Step: 1

Lay contact paper on a flat surface and use ruler and felt pen to create two rectangular card shapes, rounding three of the four corners. Use computer to print out a heart and spade shape to fit in center of card shape as well as smaller heart and spade shapes for the corners; print the letter “A.” Trace hearts, spades and “A” letters onto cards as shown in photo.

Step: 2

Place tracings on cutting matt and use craft knife to cut out card shape, leaving outside edges intact, as this will be your card background stencil. Cut out shapes and letters on each card cutout to create playing card stencil.

Step: 3

Place T-shirt on work surface and place Tulip® Fashion Form™ in between layers of shirt. Peel backing from card background stencil and place on front of T-shirt in the center of chest and tilted slightly to the left. Refer to photo.

Step: 4

Squeeze a puddle of Glacier White Soft Fabric Paint™ onto foil then dab sponge into paint, tap off excess on clean part of foil and dab onto shirt in stencil. Reapply paint as needed until full coverage is achieved, making sure to let dry between coats. Let dry.

Step: 5

Remove stencil and place on shirt slightly overlapping other design and tilting in the opposite direction. Refer to photo. Place one of the playing card stencils over the card just painted and into the bottom left corner of the card stencil, moving slightly to the right to create a “shadow” effect between cards. Refer to photo. Apply Glacier White following Step: 5. Let dry and remove stencil.

Step: 6

Squeeze puddles of Crimson Red and Ebony Soft Fabric Paint™ onto foil. Peel backing from and place spade playing card stencil onto left card. Use paintbrush to paint Ebony into designs. Let dry, then remove stencil.

Step: 7

Place heart playing card stencil onto right card and paint Crimson Red into designs. Let dry, then remove stencil. Note: You may also freehand paint each design if preferred.

Step: 8

Flip T-shirt over, leaving Fashion Form™ intact. Cut out letters to spell “GROOM” from the Block Alphabet Multi-Surface Stencils™ pack. Peel backing and place on top center of back of shirt.

Step: 9

Dab Glacier White into stencil following Step: 5. Remove stencils and let dry. Remove Fashion Form™.

Tips

Let Soft Fabric Paint™ dry between coats for more opaque coverage.
