Tips for Designing Your Own Bangles

Create one-of-a-kind bangles with just a little paint and some imagination.  Acrylic paints are ideal for painting these bangles. To get the high-gloss finish, spray or brush with Triple Thick.  Any of the wooden bangles can also be stained any color.

Rub on embellishments are a great way to decorate bangle bracelets. Notice that some of the rub-ons are flocked so you would not cover with a coating as to ruin the flocking.  Simply follow the directions on the package and apply designs.

Holes can be drilled in the wooden bangles enabling you to hang charms from head pins.  Simply drill small hole, thread head pin from inside to outside, attach charm or beads and make a wrapped loop to secure.

Ribbons come in such great colors and make great quick bangles. Secure one end of ribbon with fabric glue, wrap bangle and secure ends with glue.  Layering of different widths of ribbon make for interesting designs.

Fine line permanent markers can be used to write messages on the wooden bangles.  Let them dry completely before coating with clear finish.

Yarns and fibers also make for interesting texture on your bangles. Simply wrap and secure with glue. Here’s a great place to also attach charms.

Sticky backed rhinestone designs add that much loved BLING to your bracelets, no need to seal, in fact don’t seal because it will cloud the stones brilliance.

Buttons, bows, letters and charms will make your bracelets the envy of all your friends.  Add photos to your bracelets with Mod Podge.  Make photo copies of pictures, cut to fit and secure with coats of Mod Podge. Let dry between coats and add antiquing if desired.

Simply tie thin bangles together with ribbon or connect with a jump ring and charm.

Let your imagination go wild and create your own look! They also make great gifts. You could even have a decorating party with all your gal friends and let the creativity flow!
