  • T-shirt – white – 100% cotton
  • Plastic Tablecloth

Project Instructions

Prewash T-shirt to remove sizing; do not use fabric softener.

Cover work surface with plastic tablecloth then lay damp shirt out flat on work surface.

Pinch fabric on right side of shirt in the center. Wrap a rubber band from kit about 2” in from tip then wrap another rubber band 3” in from first rubber band. Repeat on other side of shirt.

Wearing gloves from kit, add water to Turquoise, Fuchsia and Orange dye bottles. Shake until dye is thoroughly mixed.

Squeeze Orange dye on each fabric tip on each side of shirt, then add dye to sleeve areas and bottom sides of shirt as shown.

Squeeze Turquoise dye on remaining rubber-banded sections, then add Fuchsia down center of shirt as shown.

Cover shirt with plastic tablecloth to keep damp and let set 6 to 8 hours or longer for most intense color. Thoroughly rinse in warm running water until water runs clear, removing rubber bands at this time, then wash separately in a large load of hottest water suitable for fabric and a small amount of laundry soap. Dry separately.

Dyes can be mixed to create fun new colors!
