Project Instructions

Step 1 Cut wires to size: one 7" piece of 20 ga., two 10" pieces of lighter 22 ga., four 10" pieces of darker 22 ga. and one 22" piece of 26 gauge. Pair up two lighter and one darker 22 ga. wires.

Step 2 Tightly secure all ends in the Beadalon® Wire Twister and twist together.

Step 3 Repeat using the remaining 22 ga. wires. You should now have two bundles of twisted wire.

Step 4 Cut 12" piece of 26 ga. wire.

Step 5 Place Beadalon® chain nose pliers about ¼" from end of 26 ga. wire and make 90° bend, making a hook.

Step 6 Place the 7" 20 ga. wire in the middle of the two twisted, bundled wires.

Step 7 Find center of the wires and position hook (wire cut in Step 4) around the three wires and begin to wrap tightly around the bundle six times. Make sure the wires are close and touching.

Step 8 Trim the 26 ga. wire and press down on wraps with chain nose pliers so all are flat.

Step 9 Approximately 1¼" away from center wrap, repeat Step 7.

Step 10 Repeat on opposite side. You should now have three separate wraps.

NOTE: ALL WRAPS START AND STOP ON SAME SIDE. THE SIDE WITH TRIMMED ENDS WILL LIE AGAINST CABOCHON.

Step 11 Begin to shape wire around agate cabochon.

Step 12 Make another hook on the end of the 26 ga. wire and begin to wrap wires together, where they meet at top of pendant. Make four tight wraps, BUT DO NOT CUT EXCESS 26 ga. wire.

Step 13 Gently separate twisted wires, (two on each side). You should have only two 20 ga. wires in the center.

Step 14 Using Beadalon® bale tool, bend wire to form a pendant bale.

Step 15 Using Beadalon® round nose pliers, make light bend at bottom of bale (just above the four wraps).

Step 16 Take excess 26 ga. wire and wrap four or five times around the bent wire ends. This will secure your pendant bale.

NOTE: The back of the pendant will be the side with the bent wire ends.

Step 17 Trim excess wires.

Step 18 Flip the pendant onto its front, (bent ends are on the back). Using chain nose pliers, pull twisted wires toward center. You should pull wire between wraps. Repeat this step between all four locations bound together with 26 ga. wire.

Step 19 Turn pendant on its back and pop agate cabochon into the pendant setting.

Step 20 Repeat Step 18 on the front of the pendant.

Step 21 Take one twisted wire from either side of the bale (using the two wires closest to the bale) and crisscross two wires.

Step 22 Trim ends about ¼" and untwist ¼" of the wire.

Step 23 Using round nose pliers, begin to curl each wire end.

Step 24 As each wire is twisted, begin to move them over each other to secure them in place.

Step 25 Repeat Steps 21-24 using the back two wires.

Step 26 After all twists are made, gently rub your hand over them to ensure there are no sharp ends. If you find them, use the round nose pliers to tuck them in.
