Material List

  • Yarn A: 2 skeins #4 Worsted Weight Yarn 170 yds (156 meters)/3.50 oz (100 grams) per skein
  • Yarn B: 1 ball #5 Eyelash Yarn 64 yds (58 meters)/ 1.75 oz (50 grams) per ball
  • Yarns C and D: 5 yards each of #4 Worsted Weight Yarn, two different colors, for embroidery
  • (Original model made using Lion Brand “Vanna’s Choice” color # 123 Beige (A), # 127 Espresso (C) and # 113 Scarlet (D) and Lion Brand “Fun Fur” color # 124 Champagne (B)

With H/8 (5mm) crochet hook, 15 sc and 17 sc rows = 4" *Take time to check gauge*

Directions (Make Two)
Toe
With A and larger hook, ch 11 (13, 15).

Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across - 10 (12, 14) sc.

Row 2: Ch 1, turn. 2 sc in first sc, sc in each sc across to last sc, 2 sc in last sc - 12 (14, 16) sc.

Row 3: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each sc across.

Row 4: Rep Row 2 - 14 (16, 18) sc.

Row 5: Do not turn. Instead, rotate piece and working along side edge, sc in each of 4 rows worked, sc in bottom loop of each of 10 (12, 14) foundation ch, sc in each of 4 rows along other side edge - 18 (20, 22) sc.

Row 6: Rep Row 2 - 20 (22, 24) sc.

Row 7: Rep Row 3.

Row 8: Rep Row 2 - 22 (24, 26) sc.

Rows 9 -16 (17, 18): Repeat Row 3.

Row 17 (18, 19): Rep Row 2 - 24 (26, 28) sc.

First Side
Row 1: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each of first 9 (10, 10) sts only- 9 (10, 10) sc.

Row 2: Ch 1, turn. Sc2tog, sc in each sc to end - 8 (9, 9) sc.

Rows 3 - 6: Rep last 2 rows twice – 6(7, 7,) sc at end of Row 6.

Rows 7 – 22 (24, 26): Ch 1, turn. Sc in each sc across. Fasten off. 

Other Side
Row 1: Skip center 10 (10, 12) sts, join yarn to next st, ch 1, sc in last 9 (10, 10) sts only -9(10, 10) sc.

Row 2: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each sc up to last 2 sc, sc2tog - 8 (9, 9) sc.

Row 3: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each sc across.

Rows 4 - 7: Rep Rows 2 and 3 twice - 6(7, 7) sc at end of Row 7.

Rows 8 – 22 (24, 26): Ch 1, turn. Sc in each sc across. At end of Row 22(24, 26) Fasten off. Seam last rows of both sides of Foot together for Heel. 

Ankle
Work in rounds
Rnd 1: Join yarn to top of seamed heel, ch 1, work 20 (22, 23) sc evenly along side edge, work 10 (10, 12) sc into each skipped sc, work 20 (22, 23) sc evenly along other side edge, join with sl st to beg sc - 50 (54, 58) sc.

Rnd 2: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each of first 19 (21, 22) sc, sc2tog, sc in each of next 8 (8, 10) sc, sc2tog, sc in each of rem 19 (21, 22) sc, join with sl st to beg sc. - 48 (52, 56) sc.

Rnd 3: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each sc around, join with sl st to beg sc.

Rnd 4: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each of first 18 (20, 21) sc, sc2tog, sc in each of next 8 (8, 10) sc, sc2tog, sc in each of rem 18 (20, 21) sc. Join with sl st to beg sc- 46 (50, 54) sc.

Rnd 5: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each sc around, join with sl st to beg sc.

Rnd 6: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each of first 17 (19, 20) sc, sc2tog, sc in each of next 8 (8, 10) sc, sc2tog, sc in each of rem 17 (19, 20) sc. Join with sl st to beg sc - 44 (48, 52) sc.

Rnd 7: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each sc around, join with sl st to beg sc.

Rnd 8: Ch 1, turn. Inc 1(2, 3) sc(s) evenly around. Join with sl st to beg sc - 45 (50, 55) sc. 

Calf
Rnd 9: Ch 1, turn. Join B. With A, sc in each sc around while “weaving” B randomly throughout by bringing it either to front or back of work between sc stitches, but do not leave on any given side for more than 3 consecutive sc sts and do not pull woven B too tightly. Join with sl st to beg sc.

Rnds 10 - 35: Ch 1,turn. Sc in each sc around, while continuing to “weave” B through. At the end of Rnd 35, end off A.

Rnd 36: Ch 1 with B and turn. Sc in each sc around. Join with sl st to beg sc. End off. 

Embroidery
Using stem st or back st and dark color, embroider “toes” as pictured.
Using satin st and double strand of red, embroider “toenails” as pictured. 

Sole
With A, make slip knot on larger hook. *Pick up loop in punched hole of sole, using smaller hook. Place onto larger hook and finish sc with larger hook. Rep from * to work sc in each punched hole – approximately 88 (94, 100) sc, join with sl st to beg sc. Fasten off.

Join A to bottom edge of sock and sc same number of sc (as on sole) evenly around. Join with sl st to beg sc. Fasten off, leaving 24" of yarn for sewing. Sew sc of sole to each sc of sock. Fasten off and weave in all ends. 

Care Instructions
Slipper sock soles are hand washable with mild detergent. Consider the yarn you used to make your slipper socks before washing. After washing and rinsing, gently squeeze out excess water. Stuff with clean paper or cloth to retain shape. Allow to air dry.
