Project Instructions

*Combine melted white candy with black candy color for gray shown.

In advance: Make palm tree top (see page 13 in Wilton’s Pops! Sweets on a Stick book).

Prepare medium cake balls. Insert sticks following recipe. Chill.

Dip in melted candy. Place in Decorating Stand; chill until firm.

Tint portions of fondant to match candy colors.

Roll out all ⅛ in. thick; attach the following features with melted candy.

For tiger: Cut ears using smallest oval Cut-Out; cut in half. Cut ¼ in. triangles for nose and inside ears.

For lion: Cut mane with largest flower Cut-Out. Cut circle in center with medium round Cut-Out; attach around pop. For ears, roll a ½ in. ball of fondant; cut in half, flatten. For inner ears, roll 3/16 in. balls of rose fondant; flatten. Roll a ½ in. tapered log for nose; cut a ¼ in. triangle for end of nose.

For monkey: Cut 2 ears using medium oval Cut-Out; reposition Cut-Out to cut each ear 1¼ in. long. Trim side edge to conform to pop with medium round Cut-Out; attach. Cut muzzle using small oval Cut-Out; flatten edges to widen slightly and attach. Roll a ¼ in. ball nose.

For elephant: Cut ears using medium heart Cut-Out, cut inner ears with small heart Cut-Out, flattening to enlarge slightly. Cut off ½ in. at points with medium heart Cut-Out; attach. For trunk, roll a ¾ in. ball into a log; indent end with stick. Score trunk lines with knife.

Pipe all animal details using melted candy in cut parchment bag; chill until firm.

For tree base, prepare cereal treats in round cutter, pressing to 1¾ in. high. Mark circle with cutter and cut with knife; let set. Cover with green fondant. Insert pretzel rod and attach treetop with melted candy. Roll ½ in. brown balls for coconuts; attach with candy and chill. Position pops and tree on Pops Display Stand. Add curling ribbon, cut out construction paper grass and attach around each tier.
