Project Instructions

Wash T-shirt without fabric softener.

Cover work surface with a plastic tablecloth. Lay wet T-shirt flat on work surface.

Pinch fabric in center of shirt and pull up in tube shape. Wrap rubber bands around shirt in 3 to 4-inch intervals.

Following instructions on Tulip® One Step Dye™ box, prepare dye. Apply dye colors between banded sections. Cover fabric with plastic. Let set 6-8 hours.

Wash banded shirt in large washer load. Remove bands and dry shirt.

Trace “#1” and the swish pattern onto freezer paper, cut out with craft knife to make a stencil. Lightly iron the freezer paper stencil onto center of shirt.

Squeeze puddles of paints onto disposable plate. Fill in the “#” and the swish with Marine Blue paint. Paint the “1” with Turquoise. Let dry.

Carefully Peel away freezer paper stencil.

Cut out “D” and “A” from Tulip® Multi-Surface Stencils. Peel and stick stencils to shirt according to pattern. Paint Marine Blue in stencils spell “DAD”. Let dry. Peel away stencil.

Wait 72 hours before washing. Wash in warm water, gentle cycle with mild soap; line dry. Clean up with soap and water. Do not dry clean.

Tips

Firmly press all edges of stencils to prevent paint seepage.
