  • Nylon bead thread, 10 yards
  • Seed beads, size 6/0, 16 grams, Blue
  • Seed beads, size 6/0, 16 grams, Cream
  • Hook, 1.5 - 1.75 mm, your choice
  • Tapestry Needle, No. 24

Cost of each project will vary depending on materials used.

Due to the seasonal nature of some merchandise, actual availability of some products pictured may vary.

  • Tie a small loop in the end of the thread leaving an 8-inch tail. Begin the Bead-Chain stitch.

  • Continue Bead-Chain stitch (following the count for your pattern).

  • Join the beaded chain into a circle.

  • Insert a shoelace tip into the beaded circle to help maintain the tube shape.

  • Work a Bead-Slip stitch into every stitch around the circle.

  • Continue to crochet to desired length. Remove shoelace, tip first.

  • Match beads and sew together with the tails of thread.

  • Construction: String beads by alternating one blue and one cream, repeat 71 to 80 times. Make 6 Bead-Chain stitches, leaving an 8-inch tail. Join beaded chain into a circle. Make a Bead-Slip stitch in every stitch until tube measures 8 to 9 inches. Slip stitch one more row with no beads.

  • Leave hook in the last loop, cut thread leaving a 12-inch tail. Put this cut end of tail through the last loop, remove crochet hook and tighten.

  • Thread 12-inch tail through a needle. Match a Blue bead on one end to a Blue bead on the other end and stitch through the two Blue beads to sew the ends of the bead tube together.

  • Stitch into a Cream bead, matching to a Cream bead on the other side. Continue two more times, matching Cream to Cream and Blue to Blue until the join is complete. Your join will be less visible if you stitch through the end bead and the one of the same color just behind it each time you make a stitch.

Tip: To Prevent Errors: When stringing a pattern, make a sample and tape on your work surface. Compare as you string the beads for your project. Check each repeat as you string, correct errors as you go.
For Beginners: To keep beads in a nice spiral circle, place the tip of a round shoelace into the center of the chained circle of beads as you join the first chain stitch to the last chain stitch. The shoelace tip will be removed after the first 4 to 6 rows.
