New Year's Eve Party Hat

  • Border stickers
  • Chenille stems, glitter, 6 mm
  • Construction paper, your choice of colors, 12-inch x 18-inch
  • Curling ribbon
  • Foam shapes
  • Glue stick
  • Jingle bells, gold, 12 mm
  • Pom-poms, assorted sizes and colors

Due to the seasonal nature of some merchandise, actual availability of some products pictured may vary.
 
  • Fold construction paper in half by bringing together the shorter sides.

 
  • Turn down two corners along the crease so they line up.

 
  • Fold up the bottom edges of the paper to create the brim. Make sure to fold the brim up on the side away from the folded corners.
 
  • Repeat steps 1-3 to make another hat. Slip the folded corners of one hat over the folded corners of the other with the brims facing outward. Glue the sides and edges together to secure. Be sure to leave an opening for the head.
 
  • Attach and/or use the glue stick to glue the stickers, pom-poms, chenille stems, jingle bells and craft foam shapes onto the hat as desired.
 
  • Cut several pieces of curling ribbon the same length and curl. Bundle ribbon together and tie at one end. Cut a small hole in the top point of the hat and insert the tied end of the ribbon. Glue in place to secure.
 
  • If desired, punch a hole on each side of the hat and insert and tie a piece of uncurled ribbon into each hole for a chin strap.
