  • Crochet hook, size I-9 (5 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge

  • Gauge: 15 dc and 10 rows = 4 ins [10 cm] in pat.
    Size: Approx 36 x 48 ins [91.5 x 122 cm].
    Note: To change colors, draw new color through last 2 loops on hook to complete a st, then proceed.

 
  • With A, ch 116.

 
  • Foundation row: 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 1 dc in each ch to end of ch. 115 dc.

 
  • **1st row: (RS). Ch 1. 1 sc in each of first 4 dc. *Ch 2. Miss next 2 dc. 1 sc in each of next 2 dc. Rep from * to last 2 dc. 1 sc in each of last 2 dc. Turn.

 
  • 2nd row: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc). Miss first sc. 1 dc in each of next 2 sc. Miss next sc. *4 dc in ch 2 sp. Miss next 2 sc. Rep from * to last 4 sc. Miss next sc. 1 dc in each of last 3 sc. Turn.

 
  • These 2 rows form pat. Rep last 2 rows twice more. Fasten off A. Join MC with sl st at end of last row.

 
  • With MC rep last 2 rows 5 times. Fasten off MC. Join A with sl st at end of last row.**

 
  • Rep from ** to ** until work from beg measures approx 43 ins [109 cm] ending with last row of A. Fasten off A.

 
  • Top Border: With MC, RS facing, join with sl at to top right corner and proceed as follows:
    Next row: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc). Work 90 across row. Turn. 91 dc
    Next row: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc). 1 dc in each dc to end of row.
    Rep last row 4 times more. Fasten off.

 
  • Bottom Border: With MC, RS facing, join with sl st to bottom left corner and work as given for top border.

 
  • Right Border: With MC, RS facing, join with sl st to bottom right corner and proceed as follows:
    Next row: Ch 3 (count as 1 dc). 170 dc along right edge to end of row. Turn. 171 dc. Next row: Ch 3. (counts as 1 dc). 1dc in next dc to end of row.
    Rep last row 4 times more. Fasten off.

 
  • Left Border: With MC, RS facing, join with sl st to top left corner and work as given for right border.

 
  • Finishing: With A, sl st to any corner and work 1 sc in each dc around outer edge of blanket and 3 sc in corners. Fasten off.
