     Important to know before felting:
Record all the measurements and changes before and after felting. You will be able to adjust the method to produce proper results. Always test a sample. Different colored yarns may felt differently.

Colorfastness can be affected by very hot water. Any knitting that has been properly felted becomes very dense and matted.

     Needle Case
Cast on 82 sts.

Proceed in stocking st (knit one row, purl the next row) until work from beg measures 36-inches [91.5 cm], ending with RS facing for next row. Cast off.

     Piece for Flower Motifs
Cast on 35 sts.

Proceed in stocking st until work from beg measures 7-inches [18 cm]. Cast off.

     Finishing
Felt all pieces. Felted "needle Case' should measure approximately 14-inches [35.5 cm] wide x 27-inches [68.5 cm] long.

Felted ‘Piece for Flower Motifs’ should measure approx 6-inches [15 cm] wide x 5¼-inches [13 cm] long.

     Cut Needle Case 25-inches [63.5 cm] long x 12-inches [30.5 cm] wide.

Fold up bottom 10-inches [25.5 cm] to form a pocket. With embroidery floss, blanket stitch along sides and top of case, working through both thicknessess where necessary.

Mark center of pocket. With embroidery floss, sew through both thicknesses from bottom to top of pocket along center line. Rep stitching 2-inches [5 cm] apart on both sides to form slots for knitting needles.

Trace and cut 2 Big, and 1 Small Flower Motif.

Sew Flower Motifs in position. Decorate with beads as shown in picture.

Fold Needle Case in half lengthwise. Wrap ribbon around Case and tie as shown in picture. Tack ribbon to Case if desired.
