Using yarn needle, weave in ends. Block pieces to measurements. Sew shoulder seams. Set in sleeves. Sew sleeve and side seams.

 
     Edging
With RS facing and smaller hook, join MC in lower right seam.
Round 1: Work sc evenly spaced around all edges, working 5 sc in lower right and left corners, and 2 sc in front corners of neck shaping; join with slip st in first sc.
Round 2: Ch 1, sc in each st to lower right corner, 3 sc in corner st, sc in each st up right front to 11 sts before first corner of neck shaping; make buttonholes: ch 2, skip next 2 sts, sc in next 6 sts, ch 2, skip next 2 sts, sc in next sc, 2 sc in next st; sc in each st to next corner of neck shaping, 2 sc in corner; sc in each st to lower left front, 3 sc in corner st, sc in each remaining st across; join with slip st in first sc.
Round 3: Ch 1, sc in each st and ch-1 space around, working 3 sc in lower right and left corner, and 2 sc in front corners of neck shaping; join with slip st in first sc.

 
     Sew buttons opposite buttonholes.

 
     Sleeve Edging
With smaller hook join MC in edge of sleeve.
Round 1: Working along opposite side of foundation ch, ch 1, (sc, ch 3, sc) in same space, (sc, ch 3, sc) in each space around; join with slip st in first sc. Fasten off.

 
     Using flower arrangement diagram and photograph as a guide to placement, sew leaves and flowers around front neck edge of garment. Using yarn needle, weave in ends.

Tip:

For a super-simple jacket, omit the flower and leaf appliqués – or make yarn buttons.
