  • Foundation
    Starting at tip with E yarn, ch 5, join with sl st to form ring.
 
  • Round 1: Ch 3, work 5 dc in ring; sl st in top of ch 3.
 
  • Round 2: Ch 3, work 2 dc in next dc, (dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc) twice; sl st in ch 3.
 
  • Round 3: * Ch 6, sc in next 3dc. Repeat from * around, ending ch 6, sc in last 2 dc, sl st in sl st at base of 1st loop. (3 loops).
 
  • Round 4: Ch 3, dc in same place as sl st, * holding loop forward, skip next ch 6 loop, dc in next 2 sc, 2 dc in next sc. Repeat from * ending dc in last 2 sc; sl st in ch 3.

    Round 1: Starting with 1st loop of 1st loop round, with E yarn, work as follows in each loop: Sc in loop; * ch 3, sc in 3rd ch from hook (P made), sc in same loop. Repeat from * twice more. Repeat in each loop around.

  • Round 13: Note: to make d tr: Yo 3 times, insert hook in loop and draw loop through, (yo and draw through 2 loops on hook) 4 times, * Dtr in next loop, (Make P, d tr in same loop) 7 times. Repeat from * around.
 
  • Round 14: With E, repeat 13th round.
 
  • Round 15: With F, repeat 13th round, sl st in top of 1st d tr. Break off.
 
  • Finishing
    Slip tree over Styrofoam cone. For tighter fit, add tissue paper. Decorate tree as desired with ribbon, small ornaments, and small packages under the tree.
 
  • Cones
    With gold yarn, ch 6; 5 sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Break off.
 
  • Berries
    With red yarn, make loop on hook, (make P) 3 times; sl st in 1st ch. Break off.
