  • Acrylic roller
  • Craft wire
  • Pin backs, self-adhesive, optional
  • Polymer clay
  • Pasta machine, optional

Cost of each project will vary depending on materials used.

Due to the seasonal nature of some merchandise, actual availability of some products pictured may vary.

  • Knead clay until soft. Roll out a 1/8-inch thick sheet of clay. If using a pasta machine, use setting one. Cut out shapes using template. Cut wires to specified length. Refer to photo to shape wires for legs, antennae, wings, tails, etc.

  • Place one clay body piece on work surface. Place wires on clay. Cover with second clay body piece and press together firmly. Smooth edges.

  • Add eyes and trim pieces. Bake. Adhere pin back. Tip: Because of the wire inserts, these pieces require a shorter baking time. Check pieces often while baking.

Tip: Project reprinted from Design Originals' Down to the Wire.
