Paint the tissue box blue. Let dry.

Pour a small puddle of white paint onto your palette then add a little water. Use the soft paintbrush to paint over the blue with watery white paint. This is a “wash.” Let dry.

Using a clean, dry brush, dip the brush into a normal consistency of white paint. Wipe the paint off the brush onto a paper towel, then “dry brush” white over the appliqués, picking up extra paint as needed from the paper towel.

Let paint dry, then seal to protect the painted surface.
