This mixed media pad is the popular choice when experimenting with a variety of mediums. Great for acrylic, watercolor, charcoal, pastel, marker, pen or pencil, this pad features heavyweight paper with heavy sizing for both wet and dry media. The fine texture surface erases well and blends easily, and the wire-bound pad allows easy access to micro-perforated true size sheets.  Pads have 60 sheets except for the 18"x24" which has 30.

Love! I find this book very useful to get ideas out. When using acrylics or oils, it's obviously not as sturdy as say canvas would be, but for me, it gets the job done. It provides many pages for me to get ideas out on or if I feel like randomly painting, coloring, using markers with no direction. I haven't tried pencil on it yet, but I am using it as an art journal. So far, so good. If you're looking for an outlet with "easy access" I would definitely recommend this. I will be buying this book again! June 9, 2015
Not great for graphite Canson's Mixed media pads (98lb paper) states that it is good for pencils along with other media. However, it is difficult to achieve consistent values without leaving several small areas where graphite did not stick to the paper. The the tooth is way too rough for sketching or drawing. The size of the tooth seems to be the main problem with this specific paper. Might be OK for quick practice but would most definitely not use it for any serious drawings with graphite.
