Castin' Craft® Clear Polyester Casting Resin is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to work with. Great to work with. Easy to use. Not so temperature sensitive, compared to some other resins. I wish it came in larger quantities.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Michael's does indeed SELL THE HARDNER...... Michael's DOES SELL THE HARDNER, you just need to know where to look. Try looking near the polymer clay softeners, ModPodge sealers or sometimes in the brush cleaner isle near the chemicals. It's a tiny plastic bottle with a package lable (same as the one that is around the neck of the "Mold Release" spray) stapled to the smaller little zip lock baggie it's in. Also, it resembles another product bc of the color of the bottle it's contained in....a very small PINK bottle labeled "Castin' Craft® HARDNER Clear Polyester Casting Resin" "*Kit" (*I believe it also says it's "Kit" because it may come with a stir stick and possibly a very small measuring cup). I live in Maryland and my Michael's has always carried it. I don't use this as my GO TO Resin by any means, but since I have worked there in the past and I'm always there for small little things, coupons, gift cards and deals I get from extra savings, I see this product each time I go in & it's always bothered me. I always question it's store placement, why it's sold separately, not displayed in a more accurate and reliable fashion and why they make us pay the additional cost between $5-8 for something that should be apart of the sale of the Polyester Casting Resin to begin with!!!....very irritating!!!! Anyway, if you're in need of the Hardener, I hope this helps and you're able to find it a little bit easier. Don't rely on the store clerks to know if or where it is, since so many people do not use it...or can't find it or clearly understand what it's used for since it's shelf placement is so ridiculous. Not bc of their lack of product knowledge but bc of the way the store chooses to place it, it wouldn't make sense to anyone bc it literally doesn't make sense.....AHHH , frustration! ;) Take care and Happy Castin'!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Yes Micheal's sells the catalyst! I buy this casting resin for my orgone pyramids. Compared to other resins I have used, this one has much less odor and is crystal clear, like water. It's the best one so far!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Castin' craft resin. Clear polyester. I used this as an experiment to see if it could handle weathering . I am a professional designer and maker. That was four years ago . I cast a couple of leaf motif's , adding some ink for coloration . Once cast I put them outside in the rock garden to see if they could handle heat and cold ( Midwest.) They started to pit after four years of sun and snow , but look all the better for it , the birds sharpen their beaks on them. The cast was clear , crisp and sharp . They were cast in castin' craft latex mold builder. The only thing to remember is that this stuff has a shelf life , so plan your pour carefully. Indoors the product will last a lifetime. The product can be polished to a glass like finish. It is a resin , you will need gloves and reasonable ventilation.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome This product is one of the best resins I have worked with. It cures crystal clear and handles deep molds quite well. I see some have a hard time finding the catalyst but it is sold in the same isle as the resin. Usually above it on a peghook. Great product.
