Material List

  • Paper Maché Cones - Assorted Sizes
  • Martha Stewart Crafts® Acrylic Craft paint - Mint, Goji Berry and Beetle Black
  • Wilton® Paper Doilies
  • Wood Candle Sticks
  • Wood Plaques, Small
  • Dowel Rods
  • Mod Podge®
  • Recollections™ Glitter, Chunky
  • Styrofoam® Balls
  • Low Heat Glue Gun
  • Paintbrush
  • Scissors
  • Sandpaper
  • Drill
 

Project Instructions

 

First Tree:

 

Step 1:
Paint solid with Goji Berry Martha Stewart paint. Let dry.

Step 2:
Drip Mod Podge® from the top point of the cone and let run down the sides.

Step 3:
Sprinkle chunky glitter onto the Mod Podge®.

Second Tree:

Step 1:
Using Mod Podge®, cover the cone with paper doilies. Let dry.

Step 2:
Paint the entire cone Mint. Let dry.

Step 3:
Using a paper towel, add Goji Berry paint, removing excess paint to reveal Mint paint underneath. Let dry.

Step 4:
Add three stripes of glitter on the bottom of the cone using Mod Podge®.

Third Tree:

Step 1:
Repeat process on tree two with the doilies and Mint paint.

Step 2:
Next, add brown paint with paper towel instead of Goji Berry.

Step 3:
Hot Glue a Styrofoam® ball into the bottom of each of the cones so that you can insert the dowel rod.

Step 4:
Paint candle sticks, dowel rods, and wood plaques Beetle Black. Let dry.

Step 5:
Using sandpaper, sand the edges of the candlestick and wood plaques to reveal wood underneath.

Step 6:
Drill holes in the plaque big enough for the dowel rods to fit.

Step 7:
Hot glue the dowels into the plaque.

Step 8:
Once sturdy, hot glue the cones onto the dowel rods through the Styrofoam® on the inside.
