Rated 1 out of 5 by DO NOT BUY!!!!!! I bought this clay, I made a bowl out of it and it just completely broke into pieces. I am livid, I would not waste your money on this clay I read these reviews and I just worked my butt off on what I made for it to dry and fall apart. This product once dry falls apart. You can't paint you can't do anything for the fact it garbage. May 17, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Well, I like it.... I use this clay sometimes to make coil pots and what not. I'm really not sure why it has such poor reviews on here. Ive made large thin bowls and thick pots with it and have not had any cracking or any crumbling. So with that being said I actually really enjoy working with this clay. After it drying is complete I paint it, You can really use whatever kind of paint you have around or desire. Then I cover it with a semi gloss so it looks like i glazed and fired it. So its nice. The bowls Ive made have been long lasting and i use to hold things. So this would be good for a beginner whom is stepping into the world of pottery. & it just smells like natural clay? May 6, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by very fragile Bought this for 5th grade son's school project. It seemed great at first, until the drying took place. Then items became super easy to break and crumble, which was very sad after putting so much work into the sculpting. Wish I had read the reviews before purchasing. May 2, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Go with another brand First, this clay stinks. No, literally, it smells like cat urine. Second, the box labelled 'white' does not dry white by any stretch of the imagination. Third, it crumbles with a light touch when completely dry. I used about a cup-full and threw the rest in the trash bin. Useless... April 10, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Loved it at first... Loved it at first. Was easy to use and manipulate with a little bit of water. But, as mentioned by other viewers, product dried to become extremely fragile. Would not purchase again. Wish I would've purchased a different product to begin with. March 1, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Craftsmart Natural Clay I bought this clay so I wouldn't have to worry about finding a kiln for firing. It is marketed as an air-dry clay, no firing needed. This product breaks extremely easily when just air dried. Pieces broke before they could even be painted or shellacked. I believe firing is necessary for durability, but I have yet to here back from the manufacturer about firing and at what cone. I don't have my own kiln so I must know at what cone this clay can be fired, so I don't damage someone else's kiln. I am very disapppointed in this product. November 15, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by I would not recommend this clay for any projects that will be moved around or mounted. It says it's an air-dry clay however it becomes very fragile. For example, I made a hand out of it and as it's drying it starts cracking and it doesn't stick to my structural wires and it shrinks when it drys so it came off my base board. It is very hard to glue back together cause it will just break off from the glue. Also the white one dries a gray color. I would suggest firing it at a low temperature just to set it. August 27, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by This is not air-dry clay This is not air dry clay nor should it be marketed as such. Yes, technically, it does dry when exposed to the air, but it dries to what is known as 'greenware' which is ready to be fired in a kiln. This means that a fingernail on the surface will scratch it, that it will be EXTREMELY fragile and will become more so over time as it completely dries out. I, like one of the other reviewers, fired some in my kiln and it turned out fine and is now white as well, just like the ceramic kiln fire clay I purchased at my local ceramic supply store. The price for this isn't great for kiln fire clay though, comparatively speaking, but with a coupon I guess it would be more economical. Its a nice product, it's just shouldn't be used as described here. January 16, 2015
