Customer Reviews
Craft Smart® Polymer Clay, 2 oz. is rated 2.4 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Why are they even selling this? My 12-year-old son usually uses Sculpey and FIMO clay, but he bought this with some of his Christmas money, because it was cheaper. What a waste! It completely melted in the oven when cooked the same way we always cook his polymer clay figures. After the first melted batch, I cut the time in half - same melted result. I don't know what one would use this for, as it cannot be baked.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed Very greasy and difficult to work with out of the package. Clay melted and bubbled in oven, stayed pliable after baking. Will not purchase again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Just don't. Don't let the price persuade you... Unless you never plan on handling or further working the finished product again. I was of course attracted by the price ($11.99 for 1lbs block) which is half of what sculpey and the other clays cost. At the same time I bought an 8 oz block of living doll by sculpey to compare them. The consistency of the craftsmart is like soft cheese, very difficult to work with and retains any lint or discoloration easily. It has a greasy feel to it. It is very soft, but almost too soft for any sort of detail work. So I used it to try and build some bulk in my sculpture and baked it. When I inspected it after cooling it down, I thought I had under baked it because it was so crumbly and fell apart in my hands. So I tried again and baked it twice as long. It didn't change at all, and would simply crumble at being pinched with the fingertips with little more than grip strength. I was able to completely pull off the layer of craftsmart by crumbling it away. I wouldn't even use this as bulking material, the base would be completely unstable and any work with different clay on top would just crumble off with the shoddy craft smart layer. I'm going to take the CS back to the store today. Its terrible.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not always worth the discount. If you want brittle, difficult to condition, and often grainy clay, this is for you. If you do not want to spend half of your day trying to get a flat, smooth surface to work on, pick another brand.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Overall very unhappy I will never ever get this again. Yes it's less then most on price but it did nothing but melt in the oven and ruin my hard work. I will stay a Sculpey 3 girl for the rest of my life.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Extremely crumbly. Not worth the $ Too hard to even try to condition. Would never buy again. Thought saving $1 per color would be awesome but it's not. Don't bother.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great craft product. This was my first time using polymer clay. I purchased the clay to make handles for my crochet hooks. This clay worked great for this craft. I have recommended this product to my crochet friends and my other craft friends. This product was very easy to work with, bakes well and the over all "craft" appearance afterwards looks amazing.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Shocked I had bought this to practice body sculpting,. Months ago I bought a block and LOVED it, so last week went and bought another large block, and some smaller 2 oz. packs of colors I wanted. I was shocked to say the least that the clay was VERY crumbly. The larger block was very greasy. So I conditioned it, and used it anyway, and the one color completely melted off the pendant, and the colors I bought never became hardened. I am going to assume that the colored blocks were old, and the larger one was a bad batch. BUT I wont save money when my art work is ruined on a less expensive clay..
