Project Instructions

Wreath

Cut the rim off of the large plastic cup.

Row 1: With a crochet hook and green yarn sc 60 times over rim and join with a slip stitch to the first sc.

Row 2: Sc in joining stitch, chain 5, skip next two sc's, sc in next around, to join, ch 2, hdc in first sc in place of last chain 5.

Row 3: Sc over the hdc, 5 dc in next ch 5 space, sc in next ch 5, repeat around the entire circle. Join w/slip stitch in first sc. Chain 15, slip stitch in same stitch to form hook to form loop to hang the wreath from.

Finishing: weave in ends into the back of the project.

 

Bow

Row 1: Using the red yarn, chain 36.

Row 2: Dc in the 4th chain from the hook, dc in each chain to the end of the row.

Row 3: Chain 4, turn, dc in 2nd dc from the hook, *ch 1, skip next dc, dc in next dc,* to end of row.

Row 4: Chain 3, turn, dc in each dc and space to the end of the row.

Row 5: Sc around the entire block.

Finishing: hold both short ends together and slip stitch in each stitch across. Weave the ends into the back of the project. Ensure the joined ends are at the back of the bow, pinch together and wrap yarn around to form a bow shape.

 

Ribbons (Make 2)

Row 1: Using red yarn, ch. 12.

Row 2: 3 dc in 3rd stitch from hook, 4 dc in each stitch until the end of chain.

Finishing: Tie a knot at the top of the streamer using 2 yarn tails.

 

Step 1 Add jingle bell.

Step 2 Using the two ribbons just made, attach to the back of the bow and then attach to the wreath.


*Any type of yarn or thread will work for this project. You can use any solid ring you choose and adjust row 1 to ensure full coverage of the ring. Also, ensure initial row of sc’s is in multiples of three. Size will vary based on the size of the chain, type of crochet needle used, and type of thread. The bow and ribbons are not required, you can crochet or embellish any way you choose.
