Measurements
8" wide, 8" deep and 13¼" tall

Gauge:

10½ sts and 12 rows = 4" in sc. Use any size crochet hook to obtain specified gauge.

Special Stitch
Sc2tog: Draw up a lp in each of next 2 sts, yo and pull through all 3 lps on hook (1 st decreased).

Bag: Beg at bottom, ch 22. Base—Row 1 (RS): Sc in second ch from hook and each ch across, turn – 21 sc. Row 2: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn. Rep Row 2 until piece measures 8" from beg.

Body—Rnd 1 (RS): Ch 1, sc in each st across to last st, 3 sc in last st, work 19 sc evenly across row ends, 3 sc in corner st, sc in rem lp of each foundation ch across to last ch, 3 sc in corner st, work 19 sc evenly across row ends, work 2 sc in same st as first sc; join with a sl st in first sc – 88 sc. Rnd 2 (WS):Ch 1, sc in each st around; join with a sl st in first sc. Rep this rnd until piece measures 6" from base.

Mesh section—Rnd 1: Ch 4 (counts as first dc and ch 1 here and throughout), sk 1 st, * dc in next st, ch 1, sk 1 st; rep from * around; join with a sl st in third ch of beg ch-4, sl st in next ch-1 sp; turn – 44 ch-1 sps. Rnd 2: Ch 4, * dc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1; rep from * around; join with a sl st in third ch of beg ch-4, sl st in next ch-1 sp; turn. Rep this rnd until piece measures 12" from base. Next Rnd: Ch 1, sc in each st around; join with a sl st in first sc; turn – 88 sc. Rep last rnd 3 more times.

Strap- Row 1: Ch 1, sc in each of next 20 sts; turn, leaving rem sts unworked. Row 2: Ch 1, sc in each of next 20 sc; turn. Row 3: Ch 1, sc2tog, sc in each sc to last 2 sc, sc2tog; turn – 18 sc. Row 4: Ch 1, sc in each sc across; turn. Rows 5-12: Rep Rows 3 and 4 four times – 10 sc. Work even until strap measures 12" from beg. Next Row: Ch 1, 2 sc in next st, sc in each sc across to last sc, 2 sc in last st; turn – 12 sc. Next Row: Ch 1, sc in each st across; turn. Rep last 2 rows 4 more times – 20 sc. Fasten off, leaving a 12" end. Sk 24 sts on body of bag and sew strap firmly to next 20 sc.

Finishing: With RS facing, join yarn with a sl st in any st on strap. Rnd 1: Ch 1, sc evenly along top of bag and one side of strap, join with a sl st in first sc; fasten off.

Rep for other side of bag and strap.

Weave in ends.
