Customer Reviews
EnviroTex Lite® Pour-On High Gloss Finish is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 38.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Yellows with time. The best non yellowing resin is Art Resin and Michaels does not sell that brand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Couldn't "create" without it. I'm a 3D artist and I create "boxes" usually with an object or objects placed inside the box. The objects are often heavy old rusty objects or even bones, it can vary and I've found the most secure way to anchor them is by setting them in Envirotex Lite pour-on. And I love the finished high gloss shine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good resin i love the quality of this resin for the price (i use a 40 or 50 % off coupon). it cures very hard, no yellowing. it's easy to get rid of bubbles and cures in about 8 hours if it's warm in your work area.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Effective, but messy! The overall effect is great - a hard clear protective coat, but using it (my first time using this) was a challenge. I did my project on a card table, outside in the shade. I protected my table with plastic wrap and a couple layers of newspaper, taped down. This was very important because resin got all over it and soaked through the paper. I didn't know how much I needed, but the directions said to use more than you think so you can flood the surface. I decided to use the entire 8 oz kit. It says not to just mix the 2 bottles together, but to measure it out exactly. I measured 4 oz of the first one into a measuring cup, then added the next bottle on top of the first in the same cup. I was really worried since I ran out of the second bottle, and it ran out before getting the same amount as the first. The directions say it may not harden if the don't have the same amount. Since they were in the same cup, I just decided to try it anyway. I mixed it the time it said and went to work pouring it on my project. My first mistake was that I raised my project up off the table about 1/4-1/2" using folded up paper towels and newspaper. Don't do that. So much ran off the project that it pooled under and into the side of the project. I picked it up and moved it out of the pool, but I realized the next day that the towels and paper soaked up the resin and hardened onto the bottom of the project. I had used painters tape under the edges of the project and that helped tremendously. Still, some paper stuck to my project, and I haven't tried to use sandpaper yet to see if that can go through the resin. The other trouble was I got resin all over my gloves, and I kept transferring it on anything I touched. I blew through a straw to pop the air bubbles. This caused more resin to flow off the edges and pool up again. I thought I'd popped all the bubbles, but I think more must've risen when I thought I was done. My project still had some little bubbles in it. I brought my project inside after about 5 hours. It was still REALLY sticky and my gloves immediately stuck and wouldn't come off. I left the rest outside since I couldn't pick them up. I still didn't know if it would harden. The next day I discovered the resin had hardened. Yay! This is when I discovered the new air bubbles and that all the paper underneath stuck to it. My recommendation is to use disposable cups for risers and line the underside with painters tape. Have all your supplies ready to go and near you. Have a trash can, paper towels, and many disposable gloves. I used craft sticks to spread the resin around the project and to direct it over the edge and a small paint brush to get the edges completely covered. I feel like I wasted a lot of resin. I think almost as much was on the table as was on my project. Thank goodness I had protected my table well. The surface looks pretty good - shiny and clear with a few tiny air bubbles. Hopefully I can get the stuck paper off. Hope this review helps you avoid some of my mistakes.
