Project Instructions

Step 1 Wash shirt in washing machine without fabric softener. Do not dry.

Step 2 Cover work surface with plastic table cover.

Step 3 Lay out damp T-shirt on covered work surface.

Step 4 Starting at the bottom of shirt, fold into small pleats approximately 1" wide until entire shirt is pleated horizontally.

Step 5 Tightly secure a zip tie on each side of T-shirt neckline.

Step 6 Mix turquoise and black dyes according to package instructions.

Step 7 Apply black to center portion of T-shirt, stopping approximately 1" from zip ties.

Step 8 Apply turquoise to each sleeve portion of T-shirt, stopping approximately 1" from zip ties. Let set six to eight hours.

Step 9 Without removing zip ties, rinse T-shirt in cold water until water runs clear. Wash in washer.

Step 10 Remove zip ties and dry T-shirt in dryer.
