Project Instructions

Step 1:  Knead clay until soft and smooth. For best results, clean your hands between colors.

Step 2:  Bake on an oven-proof glass or metal surface at 275°F for 30 minutes per ¼" thickness. Do not use microwave oven. Do not exceed baking temperature or recommended baking time. All baking should be completed by an adult. Wash hands after use.

Mica Shift Cuff

Condition gold clay (steps above) and roll through the pasta machine on the thickest setting (approx. 1/8" thick).

Make two sheets of clay about 1" x 8". Set one aside.

Spray Texture Maker with water and press firmly into one of the clay sheets.

Hold the Super Slicer flexible blade horizontal, with cutting edge facing toward you. Carefully curve the blade slightly into a U-shape and shave raised pattern off textured surface until all texture is removed (pattern from texture sheet will remain on the sheet of clay).

Layer patterned clay sheet on reserved clay sheet. Roll lightly with acrylic roller to adhere sheets together and smooth the surface, taking care not to trap air between sheets. Press sheet onto the bracelet with pattern side facing out, and trim edges. Bake according to directions above. Cool completely before handling.

Sand outer surface with wet/dry sandpaper. Polish with a soft cotton cloth or coat with Sculpey® Gloss Glaze.

Shimmery Stripes Cuff

Follow Steps 1 and 2 above for getting started.

Condition the above colors separately.

Once conditioned, roll Candy Pink clay through pasta machine on the thickest setting (approx. 1/8" thick). Cut a sheet 1" x 8". Press on outside of cuff bracelet and trim edges. Set aside.

From each color, roll a sheet on the thickest setting of the pasta machine; make sheets approximately 2" x 1/8" thick.

Stack the above colors, one on top of another, rolling each layer to ensure you don't trap air between layers.

Cut the stack in half and stack it again.

Use the Acrylic Roller to roll out the stack of clay. Your final stack should be approx. ¼" thick.

Hold the Sculpey® Super Slicer ripple blade horizontal with cutting edge facing toward you. Beginning at far end of stack, cut a 1/8" thick slice by pulling the blade toward you. Slice can be uneven, but you'll get more color variations that way.

Layer patterned clay sheet on bracelet. Roll lightly with acrylic roller to adhere sheets together and smooth the surface, taking care not to trap air between layers, and trim edges. Bake according to directions above. Cool completely before handling.

Sand outer surface with wet/dry sandpaper. Polish with a soft cotton cloth, or coat with Sculpey® Gloss Glaze.

Magic Cane Cuff

Follow Steps 1 and 2 above for getting started.

Condition the above colors separately.

Once conditioned, roll Candy Pink clay through pasta machine on the thickest setting (approx. 1/8" thick). Cut a sheet 1" x 8". Press on outside of cuff bracelet and trim edges. Set aside.

Using the Super Slicer straight blade, cut the extruded canes into 1/8" slices.

From each color roll ½" thick logs. Using the Super Slicer straight blade, cut each log into ¼" slices.

Fill the extruder barrel with the multicolor stack. Extrude using the largest circle die cut piece.

Create a stack of slices, alternating each color and then repeat, stacking the slices in the same order.

Place the slices on the prepared cuff bracelet. When the bracelet is completely covered, trim edges. Bake according to directions above. Cool completely before handling.

Sand outer surface with wet/dry sandpaper. Polish with a soft cotton cloth, or coat with Sculpey® Gloss Glaze.

Tips

Once baked and cooled, the bracelet can be removed from metal cuff and worn alone, or glue clay to cuff bracelet.

Oven should only be used by and adult.
