Project Instructions
Do not use unbaked clay on unprotected furniture or finished surfaces. Start with clean hands and work surface area. Good work surfaces include wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Knead clay until soft and smooth. For best results, clean your hands in between colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces together firmly. Bake on ovenproof glass or metal surface at 275 °F (130 °C) for 15 minutes per 1/4" (6 mm) thickness. For best baking results, use an oven thermometer. DO NOT USE MICROWAVE OVEN. DO NOT EXCEED THE ABOVE TEMPERATURE OR RECOMMENDED BAKING TIME. Wash hands after use. Baking should be completed by an adult.
Begin by preheating oven to 275 °F (130 °C). Test temperature with oven thermometer for perfectly cured clay. For best results, condition all clay by running it through the clay dedicated pasta machine for several passes on the widest setting. Fold the clay in half after each pass and insert the fold side into the rollers first.
Using pasta machine on #3 setting, make clay sheets of each color. Make one ½" wide Brown strip and press around glass votive rim. Trim ends and smooth seam with fingers. Use the Etch ‘N Pearl tools to press designs into the edging.
Lay real leaf on either color clay sheet and roll firmly across it with the acrylic roller. Remove the leaf from the clay sheet. If you are using a stamp, spray leaf stamp with water and press the stamp firmly into the clay. With knife tool from the Clay Tool Starter Set, carefully cut around the outline of the leaf, making the stem a little wider.

Gently press the clay leaf to the surface of the glass. Be careful to not distort the lead impression. Repeat with additional leaves in both clay colors until the area is filled.
Use mica powders to highlight the clay designs.
Bake at 275 ºF (130 °C) for 15 minutes. Allow to cool completely.
