Glass Spray Paint Kit Instructions

Step 1 Mix equal parts Martha Stewart Crafts™ glass paint and medium in the included container, but do not fill above shoulder line. Add spray medium first for easier mixing. Shake thoroughly. (Note: Liquid Fill Transparent Glass Paints can be used in sprayer without adding the mixing medium.)

Step 2 Attach plastic tube to sprayer, then attach sprayer to bottle. Do not shake.

Step 3 Align red dot on spray button with V-shaped notch on base of the sprayer. Practice on scrap paper before spraying your project. Hold bottle upright 6" to 10" from surface. Never tilt more than 45°. Begin at the top and gently spray back and forth, overlapping each stroke for even coverage. To avoid drips, start spraying while in motion and release button while still in motion.

Step 4 Let dry and apply two more coats as desired. Eliminate clogs and sputtering by holding your finger over the red dot and pressing button for one second.

Step 5 Immediately after use, remove sprayer from the bottle. Cap and store the unused liquid. Remove plastic tube and rinse under running water. Reattach tube and place in cup of water. Spray away from you until water runs clear.

TIP: If using Martha Stewart Crafts™ Fine Glitter Paint, remove small filter at bottom of plastic tube.

Paintable Clings

Step 1 Wash surface in warm soapy water. Allow to dry. Moisten a paper towel with rubbing alcohol and wipe entire surface to remove any residue.

Step 2 Plan and measure both the cling and the surface to be decorated. Experiment with a design by applying and repositioning clings until satisfied with the arrangement. Arrange clings in a grid for a structured look, or reapply randomly for a playful, organic effect. Mix different cling designs to create a whole new motif. For a look that's cohesive and natural, limit your paint palette to one, two, or three colors. Use varying shades of one color, complementary colors, or colors in the same family (warm tone, cool tones, rich tones, pastels, etc.).

Step 3 Place the sheet of clings on a flat surface. Use Martha Stewart Crafts™ Liquid Fill Transparent Glass Paint to fill in each open frosted area of the cling. Work in sections, one color at a time, filling in each area completely. For large areas, apply paint in a back-and-forth motion, using the bottle tip to spread the paint evenly. Martha Stewart Crafts™ Glass Paint Brushes are helpful when painting in small, intricate areas of the cling. Squeeze liquid fill paint on a paint palette and fill in with a brush. Continue painting until all areas of the cling are filled. Use the glass bent pick from the Martha Stewart Crafts™ Glass Paint Tools to remove bubbles. Allow paint to dry completely on a flat surface.

Step 4 Carefully peel the dried painted cling from the backing sheet. Place the design on the surface to be decorated, pressing gently to smooth it.

Step 5 Wash all tools immediately after use before the paint dries. Clings are for decorative purposes only, and are not dishwasher safe. Wipe with damp cloth to clean.

Tips

Use the bent pick in the Martha Stewart Crafts™ Glass Paint Tools to remove bubbles.
