Material List

  • Martha Stewart Crafts™ Adhesive Silkscreen – Butterflies
  • Martha Stewart Crafts™ Stenciling Tools (Pouncer or Handled Squeegees 6"h x3")
  • Glass Cube Vase
  • Foam Plate
  • Paper Towels
  • Brush Basin (or Water Container)
  • Scissors
  • Rubbing Alcohol
  • Martha Stewart Crafts™ Frost Translucent Glass Paint – Surf and Teal

Project Instructions

Squeeze small amount of paint onto foam plate. Dab flat edge of pouncer into paint a few times. Dab onto silkscreen until all openings are painted. Carefully lift straight up to remove silkscreen; do not drag screen across wet paint.

Squeeze small amount of paint directly on silkscreen. Holding squeegee at a 45° angle with light pressure, pull paint across opening of the silkscreen. Carefully lift straight up to remove silkscreen; do not drag Pink Pearl Butterfly Vase

Step 1 Remove stickers and clean glass vase with warm soapy water. Dry thoroughly.

Step 2 Moisten paper towel with rubbing alcohol; wipe glass to remove any soap residue.

Step 3 Measure 1½" from the top and bottom of the glass cube and adhere masking or glass patterning tape around the vase.

Step 4 Squeeze a small amount of Surf paint onto a foam plate and load the flat edge of a pouncer by dabbing into the puddle of paint.

Step 5 Pounce to apply the paint to the areas above and below the tape lines. Continue pouncing to apply color evenly around vase. Remove tape while wet and allow to dry.

Step 6 Cut apart adhesive silkscreen.

Step 7 Remove silkscreen from backing sheet; save backing sheet for storage.

Step 8 Position silkscreen on vase where desired. Press in place.

Step 9 Apply paint to silkscreen using either a pouncer or squeegee.

Step 10 Immediately clean tools and silkscreen with soap and water; rinse well and dry thoroughly. Store silkscreen on backing sheet.


When repeating a design on a project, clean and dry the silkscreen between uses.
