Project Instructions
Step 1 Pre-wash shirt without fabric softener and do not dry.
Step 2 Wearing protective gloves, add water to Turquoise dye and place in a bucket.
Step 3 Place shirt inside bucket with dye. From the bottom of the shirt, slowly lift out shirt from the dye and slowly return shirt to bucket.
Step 4 Raise shirt every 5-10 minutes for about one hour.
Step 5 Hang shirt leaving the top of the shirt in the bucket touching the dye. Let sit for two hours. Dump Turquoise dye and rinse bucket.
Step 6 Mix Blue dye in bucket and repeat Steps 3-5.
Step 7 Rinse, wash and dry shirt according to package instructions.
Step 8 Trace moon and bats onto contact paper and cut out using craft knife to create stencils.
Step 9 Place moon stencil on shirt.
Step 10 Cover outside areas with paper towels and spray with white fashion spray. Complete coverage is not needed. Allow some of the blue underneath to show and squeeze bottle slowly to create spray spots to remain, creating a “crater moon” look. Let dry.
Step 11 Spray right outside corner of the moon with Lime. Let dry.
Step 12 Place bat stencils on shirt where desired and place paper towels around stencil to avoid over-spray. Spray with Black. Remove stencil and repeat as desired. Let dry.
