- Hole Punch, Standard
- Mod Podge®
- Acrylic Paint – Red and Brown
- ArtMinds™ Simply Surfaces Ceramic Mushroom
Step 1 Paint top of mushroom with several coats of red acrylic paint. Let dry.
Step 2 Cut 1/8" wide strips from old book pages. Cut enough to cover the stem of the mushroom.
Step 3 Dilute brown acrylic paint and paint the underneath portion of the top of the mushroom. It is fine if the project appears streaky. This gives it a natural effect. Let dry.
Step 4 Cut circles from book pages using the 1" circle punch and the regular punch.
Step 5 Coat the stem of the mushroom with Mod Podge®.
Step 6 Wrap 1/8" wide book page strips around the stem of the mushroom starting at the top and working your way down. It is all right to overlap and layer as you go.
Step 7 Coat the top of the mushroom with Mod Podge®.
Step 8 Place 1" circles or circles from the regular punch or both on the mushroom top. Let dry.
Step 9 On the entire mushroom, except underneath the top, brush on and wipe off brown acrylic paint, creating an aged look.
Step 10 Finish by giving the mushroom one last coat of Mod Podge®.
