It’s the most wonderful time of the year to gather the family together for a holiday tradition...creating this wonderful gingerbread house!

Assemble cottage according to instructions included in kit.

Ice roof smooth with white icing; let dry overnight.

Tint 3 oz. of fondant red, using icing color. Roll fondant 1/16" thick. Use cake circle as pattern to cut curved strips for the roof; attach with damp brush.

Use wide end of tip in kit to cut red fondant circle to attach to center swirls on roof.

Roll out red fondant 1/16" thick and cut a 1¾"x3¼" high door; attach to cottage with damp brush.

Roll out white fondant 1/8" thick. Cut strip 5"x1/8" wide.

Roll out red fondant strip 1/16" thick and cut into a 5"x1/8" wide strip.

Attach red strip to white strip and roll into a swirl; attach to front door with damp brush.

Roll white fondant 1/16" thick and cut a 5"x1/8" wide strip. Roll red fondant 1/16" thick and cut a 5"x1/8" wide strip. Attach white strip to red strip. Roll up and set aside.

Roll out white fondant 1/16" thick and cut circle with wide end of tip 2A. Roll out red fondant 1/16" thick and use wide end of tip 2A to cut strips. Attach to white circle to form pinwheel; add to front of house.

Roll out white fondant 1/16" thick and cut front window 1-3/8"x1½" high. Cut seven side and back windows, each measuring 1¼"x1" high, and attach all windows to house with damp brush.

Cut shutters in white fondant 3/8"x1" high for side and back windows and 3/8"x1½" high for front windows.

Roll out red fondant 1/16" thick and cut curtains. Attach to window with damp brush. Cut red fondant strips 3/8"x1-1/6" thick and add as trim to shutter with damp brush.

Attach fondant swirl above front window with damp brush.

Attach red and white mini candies around door frame with dots of icing. Add white miniature candy for doorknob, attaching with white icing.

Use white icing to decorate dots around fondant swirl designs.

Attach red berry candies to roof peak with white icing.

Roll out red and white fondant into ¼" wide logs and twist together. Roll into one 3/8" wide log and trim to 3" long. Attach striped pieces to corners of house with icing.

Pipe icicles on windowsills and roof eaves and peaks.

Ice base fluffy with white icing. Cut red berry candies in half, horizontally, and attach around base of house and along eaves.
