Canvas Stocking Ornaments
Item# 27324fThese festive stockings are fun and easy to make with just a few holiday touches. Courtesy of DecoArt®
Trace and transfer pattern outline (only) onto piece of canvas. Fold over, and stitch edges together. Cut out, leaving ¼" border all around. Paint a base coat on each. Let dry. Transfer pattern details.
For the Harlequin Stocking, paint a base coat Tomato Red. Trace on diamond pattern. Paint a base coat diamonds Russet.
Using liner and water-thinned paint, paint solid lines Marigold and broken lines Pistachio Mint.

On the Scroll Stocking, paint a base coat Marigold. Using liner and thinned Tomato Red, paint scrolls.

For the Plaid Stocking, paint a base coat on the stocking Pistachio Mint. Using #2 flat brush and thinned Hauser Medium Green, paint in broader stripes. Using liner brush and thinned paint, add lines of Tomato Red and Marigold, as shown.

Paint a base coat on the stocking top Light Buttermilk. Transfer lettering. Using #2 flat brush, paint letters Tomato Red and wood stars Marigold.
Using #8 flat brush, shade under top of each stocking with Russet.
Using thinned Russet, antique the stockings and stars.
Using fine tip black pen, outline images and add shades to lettering and scrolls as desired.
Glue stars to stockings.
Punch hole in back of each stocking and add ribbon for hanging.
