Cut strip of fabric approximately 3"x50". Wash and dry.

Iron fabric and fold in half lengthwise. Stitch ¼" seam down length. Leave ends open.

Turn right side out and press.

Place fabric transfer paper under pattern and pencil over flowers. Randomly transfer flowers onto headband.

Onto paper plate, pour puddles of Sunshine Yellow, Crimson Red, Holiday Green, Glacier White and Ebony.

Paint flowers with desired colors or as shown. Mix a small amount of Holiday Green into some Sunshine Yellow to lighten and paint the small flowers. Let dry.

Spread out plastic tablecloth on table and prepare dye. Be sure to shake well.

Lay painted headband down flat on plastic tablecloth. Squeeze dye over entire headband. (The Tulip® paints will repel dye.) Cover with a piece of plastic wrap. Let set four hours or more.

Wash in cold, soapy water. Dry. Cover headband with a piece of cotton fabric and press with iron. The fabric cloth will prevent paint from sticking to iron.

Fold in raw edges on both ends and press. Pin edges together and use sewing machine to sew openings closed.

For brighter colors, touch up outer tips of flowers with corresponding colors.
